"Problem-based political representation: Governmental responsiveness to societal problems".12/3/2019 This is the title of a super-cool paper that I just send out for review. It is co-authored with Peter Bjerre Mortensen and Matt Loftis and examines the effect of changes to seven problem indicators on the content of the council agendas in the 98 Danish municipalities, 2007-2017. We find that politicians to priorities problems and the risk of losing office is an important driver of problem responsiveness.
